Expanding the Reach of Problem-Solving Courts

In 2005, the Bureau of Justice Assistance launched the Community-Based Problem-Solving Criminal Justice Initiative to broaden the scope of community courts and other community-based problem-solving court programs. This panel will examine the community court model followed by the Red Hook Community Justice Center in Brooklyn NY, and explore how the BJA initiative spurred new experimentation in cities across the country, including San Diego, CA and Seattle, WA.
