Forum attendees will have the option to tour the Microsoft Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). The Redmond GSOC, one of three centers worldwide that handle security at over 700 Microsoft locations, uses off-the-shelf Microsoft products such as SharePoint, Communicator, and InfoPath to orchestrate 3rd party Alarm Monitoring/Access Control/ Video Environment applications for communications and information sharing. During the tour participants will learn how Microsoft Physical Security developed the GSOC solution, and how Microsoft (and 3rd party) tools reduce costs and provide better physical security. Participants will also experience a real-time “interoperability drill” in which Microsoft will shut down the Redmond GSOC and transfer all monitoring over to the UK GSOC, and how they dispatch local responders from the UK using Radio over IP. The tour also highlights: An end to end physical security operation built on Microsoft tools and platforms; A department using Microsoft tools like SharePoint, InfoPath, Groove and Virtual Earth …out of the box with no customization… to improve many of their day to day processes; and How you can design an operation to have immediate “fail over” capabilities between locations.
Tours will take place on Wednesday morning Aug. 12 and are limited to 21 participants each. Cost is $10 per person. Tours are about 45 minutes long. Times listed below include travel time to and from the GSOC. Shuttle service will pick up participants at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue.
